Burning Down The Town
Recorded by Doug Stone
Written by Wayne Perry and Joe Diffie
G
I hope the clouds are gathering

Around her house
C
tonight

She's putting on her
G
makeup

And Lord she's looking
D7
right

I
G
know just where she's headed

And I know my part ain't
C
there

So I pray for rain cause
G
my old flame

Is out
D7
burning down the
G
town

The
D7
fire still burns but the table turned
C
She don't yearn for
G
me

Some
D7
where tonight she's glowing bright

For
C
all the world to
D7
see

Oh
G
Lord don't let her do it

Please turn her heart
C
around

I'm praying for rain cause
G
my old flame

Is out
D7
burning down the
G
town

Each
D7
night I spend without her

Leaves no room for
C
doubt

That all these tears from
G
crying

Never put her
D7
out

G
Lord I know she's burning

Cause the smoke is all
C
around

I'm praying for rain cause
G
my old flame

Is out
D7
burning down the
G
town

Repeat #3,4

I'm
C
on my knees
G
begging

please

To
D7
send some rain down
G
town
