This Old Road
Written and Recorded by Kris Kristofferson

G
Look at that old photograph
C
is it really
G
you

Smiling like a
C
baby full of
G
dreams

Smiling ain't so easy now
C
some are comin'
G
true
C
Nothing's a simple as it
D7
seems

C
But I guess you count your blessings with the
G
problems
C
That you're dealing with
D7
today
C
Like the changing of the
G
seasons

Ain't you come a
C
long

G
way (ain't you come a
C
long

G
way)

Ain't you come a
C
long way
D7
down this old
G
road

Looking at a looking glass
C
running out of
G
time
C
On a face you used to
G
know

Traces of a future lost
C
in between the
G
lines
C
One more rainbow for the
D7
road
C
Thinking of the faces in the
G
window
C
That you passed along the
D7
way
C
Or the last thing you believed
G
in

Ain't you come a
C
long

G
way (ain't you come a
C
long

G
way)

Ain't you come a
C
long way
D7
down this old
G
road
C
Say you tried to chase the sun
G
down
C
And you let it slip
D7
away
C
And the holy night is
G
falling

Ain't you come a
C
long

G
way (ain't you come a
C
long

G
way)

Ain't you come a
C
long way
D7
down this old
G
road

Look at that old photograph
C
is it really
G
you
