Reasons
Written and Recorded by Reba McEntire
C
I prefer yellow roses to
F
daisies

I'll take the
C
mountains over a postcard
G7
view

I'll order
C
steaks every time instead of
F
hot

dogs

That's
C
why I chose
G7
him over
C
you

I like to
F
love somebody and have somebody
C
love

me

I like happiness instead of being
G7
blue

I like to
F
talk real late at night after
C
making

love

And that's the reasons I chose
G7
him over
C
you
G7
Well I don't
C
know how I ever did with
F
out

him

I don't
C
understand why I put up with
G7
you

Well I know that the
F
sun

shines

The brightest when you're
C
happy

And that's the reasons I chose
G7
him over
C
you

So
F
go ahead and think just what you
C
want

to

But I promise what I just told you is
G7
true

Oh I
F
love him so much and he loves
C
me

too

And that's the reasons I chose
G7
him over
C
you
G7
Just some of the
C
reasons I chose
G7
him over
F
you over
C
you

She began her career in the music industry as a high school student singing in the Kiowa High School band, on local radio shows with her siblings, and at rodeos. While a sophomore in college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, she performed the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City and caught the attention of country artist Red Steagall who brought her to Nashville, Tennessee.
