G
This time I almost made it
E7
came so close to
Am
saying

no
D7
I almost found the words to make you
G
go
D7
This time I almost
G
made it
E7
almost pushed you
Am
away

But my
D7
heart cried out begging you to
G
stay

Now I'm
C
laying here beside you cryin'
Am
softly

Cause I
D7
know you're going
Bm
home to her
E7
Cause you
Am
belong to her
D7
and you go
G
home to her

I
C
know you steal
E7
away I
C
know there'll
Am
be another
D7
day

That you'll come
E7
back

again
Em
And you'll say
Am
hello friend
D7
and I'll
C
reach out my
G
hand

This
D7
time I almost
G
made

it

This
D7
time I almost
G
made

it
