mind

Now you've gone and left me you're with somebody
G7
new

But I wonder if you told him I bought the clothes on
C
you

When you two are dancing and you
C7
whisper soft and
F
sweet

I wonder if you'll
C
tell him
F
I bought the
G7
shoes on your
C
feet

Now I've lost my country girl to a city love a
G7
ffair

He built you up you fell for him you didn't treat me

Now you've gone and left me you're with somebody
G7
new

But I wonder if you told him I bought the clothes on

you

When you two are dancing and you
C7
whisper soft and
F
sweet

I wonder if you'll
C
tell him
F
I bought the
G7
shoes on your
C

Hits including "If You Ain't Lovin' (You Ain't Livin')" and "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young" marked him as a honky-tonk singer in sound and personal style and his chart-topping singles "Hello Walls" and "It's Four in the Morning" showed his versatility as a vocalist. Young is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
