G
Let me
D7
hear you say I love you one more
G
time

D7

Before
G
you go take my
C
hand and walk
G
beside

me

To the place you promised to be
D7
mine

Kiss my
C
lips for the last time and then
G
darlin'

Let me
C
hear you
D7
say I love you one more
G
time

D7
Just for the night let's go
C
back to yester
G
day
D7
Pretend when I hold you close
C
you feel that same ole
G
way
C
You can't love us both
G
you're just not that kind

Let me
C
hear you
D7
say I love you one more
G
time
D7

We'll
G
turn the lights down
C
low like we
G
used to do

Toast our future with yesterday's
D7
wine

And so
C
my long cold nights will seem a little
G
warmer

Let me
C
hear you
D7
say I love you one more
G
time

Darlin' let me
C
hear you
D7
say I love you one more
G
time

Hits including "If You Ain't Lovin' (You Ain't Livin')" and "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young" marked him as a honky-tonk singer in sound and personal style and his chart-topping singles "Hello Walls" and "It's Four in the Morning" showed his versatility as a vocalist.
