Written by Jack Ripley
G7
Oh it's
C
funny how wine makes fools out of men around
G7
women

And it's funny how women love men till their money is
C
gone

As I went down to Juarez town to buy my love a
G7
ring

I
F
stopped me by the
C
tavern where the painted women
Dm
sing

Says
F
I I'll take one
C
look inside but
C7
I'll not touch that
F
wine
G7
And in the morn I'll buy the ring and Mary will be
C
mine
G7

Oh it's
C
funny how wine makes fools out of men around w
G7
omen

And it's funny how women love men while the wine flows
C
on

Yes it's funny how wine makes fools out of men around
G7
women

And it's funny how women love men till their money is
C
gone

I walked me in and sat me down beside the candle
G7
light

Then a
F
painted girl walked
C
by and said are you alone
Dm
tonight

I
F
showed her all the
C
money that would
C7
buy my Mary's
F
ring

And
G7
soon the wine began to flow and we began to
C
sing

G7

Now I
C
walk the streets of Juarez town with Mary on my
G7
mind

But
F
every window I
C
look me in there's painted girls and
Dm
wine

I
F
can't go home to
C
Mary cause
C7
I don't have the
F
ring

So
G7
I'll stay here in Juarez town no matter what it
C
brings

G7
repeat #3
