In Daddy's Footsteps
By Hank Snow

G
I want to follow in daddy's
C
footsteps

Let me
D7
be the man he wanted me to
G
be

I want to follow the path of
C
righteousness

Remem
D7
bering all the things he told to
G
me

He
D7
said son love thy neighbor

And
G
trust in Him above
A7
Think not of hate but keep within

A
D7
heart that's filled with love

I want to
G
follow in daddy's
C
footsteps

Let
D7
me be the man my daddy used to
G
be

Recitation:

Yes Jesus let me follow in the
C
footsteps of my dad

Cause '
D7
twas him that often told me of you on your throne of
G
gold

And he told me of how You searched the
C
mountain

For the
D7
little lamb that went a
G
stray

And brought him back and tucked him so
D7
safely in the
G
fold

And he told me how they hung You on the
C
cold and bitter cross

And his
D7
story went on how they placed the crown upon your
G
head

And he told me how they pierced your tender side
C
O Son of God

And
D7
left you there to hang until you were
G
dead

That's why I want to follow in the
C
footsteps of my daddy now

Because
D7
I want to be the man that he wanted me to
G
be

And then some day just as he told me before he
C
left us and went away

My loving
D7
daddy with my Jesus I shall
G
see

Sung:

So I'll
D7
trust in the Father that
G
watches

D7
from

G
above
A7
To take good care of daddy and
D7
shower him with precious love

I want to
G
follow in daddy's
C
footsteps

Let
D7
me be the man that daddy use to
G
be
