Recorded by Hank Snow

Written by Walter Rollins
G
(It's the Lord's way of
D7
saying

good
G
night)

All the cares of the
D7
day are be
G
hind

me

And I
C
know everything is all
G
right

For that's
C
not just a star twinkling
G
bright from
E7
above

It's the
A7
Lord's way of saying good
D7
night

There's a
G
wonderful

D7
feeling comes
G
o'er

me

As I
C
gaze on the moons silvery
G
light

For it's
C
more than a
F#
glow that I
G
see from be
E7
low

It's the
A7
Lord's way of
D7
saying

good
G
night

I
D7
see Him all day in the
G
flowers

He
D7
speaks through the birds in the
G
tree

And
A7
lest I should know lonely
D7
hours

There's His
A7
comfort in touching the
D7
breeze

Oh I
G
know that He's
D7
always

be
G
side

me

As I
C
walk in the sun shining
G
bright

And when
C
daylight is
F#
gone let the
G
darkness creep
E7
on

It's the
A7
Lord's way of
D7
saying

good
G
night

(goodnight)
