Daddy's Hands
written and recorded by Holly Dunn

C
I remember daddy's hands folded
G7
silently in prayer

And
Am
reaching out to
F
hold me when I
C
had a night
G7
mare

You could
C
read quite a story in the
G7
callous' and lines
F
Years of work and
C
worry had
G7
left their mark be
C
hind

I remember daddy's hands how they
G7
held my mama tight

And
Am
patted my
F
back for
C
something done
G7
right

There are
C
things that I'd forgotten that I
G7
loved about the man

But I'll
F
always

re
C
member the
G7
love in daddy's
C
hands

Daddy's hands were soft and
F
kind when I was
C
crying

Daddy's
Em
hands
Am
were hard as
Dm
steel when I'd done
G7
wrong

Daddy's
C
hands weren't always gentle but I've
F
come to under
D7
stand

There was
C
always

G7
love in daddy's
C
hands

I remember daddy's hands
G7
working 'til they bled
Am
Sacrificed

un
F
selfishly just to
C
keep us all
G7
fed

If
C
I could do things over I'd
G7
live my life again

And
F
never take for
C
granted the
G7
love in daddy's
C
hands
