C
If you get lonely out there in
F
that old

world

And you become just a
D7
homesick little
G7
girl

If the life you
C
lead

F
begins to fall
C
apart

Then come home come on
F
home
G7
to my
C
heart

Then come
Am
home to my
C
heart the door is open

Come on
Am
home when the
D7
tears began to
G7
fall
C
Forget the past and
F
forget what you have
C
been

And come home to my
F
heart and
G7
walk right
C
in

If some old memory should start
F
working on your

mind

And you get lonesome for the
D7
life you left
G7
behind

If you new

world

home
G7
to my

He achieved his greatest success in the 1970s as a force in country music's "outlaw movement" popularized by artists Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, and Merle Haggard. In the 1980s, his music career slowed due to drug, alcohol and legal problems. He served a prison sentence in the early 1990s and his declining health effectively ended his career in early 2000. In 1980, Paycheck appeared on the PBS music program Austin City Limits (season 5).
