Hang On Sally
Recorded by Johnny Paycheck
Written by Larry Kingston
G
In the mountains there's a valley of love named Sally

A
D7
full moon shinin' down on
G
moonshine

valley
She's a'waitin' and a'hopin' that I'll come a'callin'

Callin'
D7
to her through the water where the waterfall is
G
fallin'.
She loves me and she needs me and her love is a'wastin'

And
D7
the sweetness of the drippin's from her
G
lips need tastin'
So I'm runnin' wishin' and hopin' that I'll make it

Up the
D7
mountain to my fountain of
G
love
C
Hang on Sally waitin'
G
here in the valley

I'm
D7
comin' just as fast as I
G
can

I'm
C
pantin' and I'm puffin' but
G
man that ain't nothin'

Waitin'
A7
till I kiss and hold your
D7
hand
G
Through the brush and the rubble I'm a'
C
callin' on the
G
double

Clothes all torn by the thorns and the
D7
needles and the briars

I'll
G
sure be a sight but you can
C
heal me tonight

And
D7
bathe my wounds in the fountain of
G
love
Now old brother Brewer he's afraid of revenuer's

He's a
D7
crackpot crack shot now
G
Brewer don't you do 'er
It's just me Mr. B'er old city slicker buddy

And I
D7
sure ain't a'hankerin to get all hurt and
G
bloody
If you kill me who'll thrill me while I'm lying here a'dyin'

The
D7
tears'll fill the valley where old
G
Sally starts to cryin'
They'll rust up and bust up the still you got a runnin'

So
D7
take me to my valley of
G
love
Repeat #3,4
D7
Take me to my valley of
G
love
