Drug Problem
Recorded by The Bellamy Brothers
Written by David Bellamy
C
I hear people talkin' about going cold turkey

Dryin'
F
out checkin' into Betty
C
Ford

But
F
I just can't relate to all those
C
strange

a
Am
ddictions

Cuz
D7
my drug problem never went
G7
ignored

You see
C
I was drug to
F
Church on Sunday
C
morning

I was drug to
F
family

C
reunions

I was
F
drug to grandpa's farm to
C
work every
Am
summer

And I
D7
was drug to weddings and to
G7
funerals

I was
C
drug out the
F
door to go to
C
school

everyday

I was drug by my
F
ears when I was
C
bad

When
F
I disobeyed my
C
parents or my
Am
teacher

I was
D7
drug to the wood shed by my
G7
dad

And those
C
drugs are still
F
running through my
C
veins

Still affecting every
F
thing I do and
C
say

And if
F
kids today had those kind of
C
drug

Am
problems

I
C
believe the world would
G7
be a better
C
place

I won't claim I
F
grew up to be
C
perfect far from it

But every time I
F
start to make a
C
slip

I can
F
see daddy reaching for the
C
good

book

And
D7
hear those prayers roll from momma's
G7
lips

That's
C
why I count my
F
blessings every
C
evening

And pray to the
F
good Lord up
C
above

And
F
thank Him for giving me a
C
drug

Am
problem

And a
C
home and a
G7
family filled with
C
love
Repeat #2,3,4
